Description
The hospitality of Caucasian people, the exquisite of Caucasian cuisine, the unique taste of wines and cognac are known all over the world. The founder of "Caucasus" restaurant was expired to restore dignity and provide ancient ethnic hospitality of forgotten and famous dishes of Caucasian cuisine. For this reason, chefs investigated the ethnographic literature, archival material and photographs were introduced different cuisines of the Caucasian peoples, and tried to approximate the "Caucasus" tavern to similar institutions of Erivan and Tiflis of 19th century.
For the appropriate atmosphere and ethnic flavour during the building only natural building materials were used: stone, boulder, brick, clay, iron, wood, canvas, reeds and straw. Chandeliers, lamps, locks and door handles were made by blacksmith.
The secret of a unique taste of dishes is obvious: they are made according to traditional recipes of Caucasian cuisine. Chefs of armenian and georgian cuisine cook the dishes using only fresh meat of domestic high quality products and spices.
Banquet hall
The restaurant has eight halls: two Armenian, Georgian and western, wine cellar, east wine cellar, and two cool-room cave with small waterfall and streams. The total capacity of the restaurant is 200 people.
Menu:
- delicious Georgian cuisine made by high-class cooks of Georgia: kupaty, chkmeruli, chakapuli, chashushuli, ostri, kharcho and georgian khachapuri;
- armenian shashlyk, harisa, dolma, lamb made in armenian furnace - tondyr and hash, sterlets and Garni trout right out of the tank located in the tavern;
- Armenian and Georgian wines (Armenian wine from barrels of the Tavern: dry, semi-sweet and white);
- Armenian tea thyme, mint, and prepared according to medieval recipes lime tea, Mediterranean mint, Ani, Armenian set, orient blend.
There is a small shope in the restaurant where you can buy souvenirs of Tavern, as shaker, vessel, jug.
Musical accompaniment
Every day, eight o'clock in the evening, in "Maran" East room are heard songs of Sayat Nova, Jivani, Sherami and other folk singers played on Armenian national musical instruments - kamancha, duduk, drum, ud.
