In Soviet times, viticulture has developed a strong pace, selected new varieties of grapes. The area of vineyards has increased in the Ijevan region. It became necessary to build a winery. In 1997 began a complete restructuring of production and managerial levels. As a result, less than a year «Ijevan winery» of the secondary wine-making enterprise into a company that controls all the stages of wine production - from harvest to bottling the finished product. In 1998 the plant received a license to spill. The first wine was «Separavi»- Armenian red dessert wine.
Within 2 or 3 years «Ijevan winery» has already produced more than six varieties of wine «Separavi», «White Ijevan», «Ijevan Red», «Haghartsin» etc.
In 2002 completed a complete restructuring of production, updated equipment and technology. All products are manufactured at the plant for cold filling method, which allows you to save not only the authentic taste and aroma of wine, but it contains useful substances. It should be noted that the «Ijevan winery» uses in the production of only their own wine stocks.
One of the priorities for the distribution was originally an internal market of Armenia. Today the brand «Old Ijevan» occupies a leading position in terms of sales.
